WHY
Starting august 2026, the Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology (HLT) will offer a bachelor completion programme especially designed for students who would like to:
- get their studies from other theological institutions recognised as part of an accredited bachelor’s degree with HLT
- qualify for admission to the master’s programme in theology and leadership at HLT
HLT will cooperate with international partner institutions to facilitate a good transition and evaluation of former studies. However, we emphasize that all students must apply and each application will be assessed individually in accordance with HLT’s academic criteria.
WHAT
Based on our dialogue with several institutions, the following six courses (each 10 ECTS) will be offered in this programme. Detailed course descriptions and our study catalogue can be found here.
Individuals may have to follow additional/other courses to achieve either a bachelor’s degree, or the necessary qualifications for being admitted into our master’s programme. (Internship might also be required as one of these additional courses.)
HOW
The programme will be taught mainly online but include one physical, mandatory 2-day-gathering at our campus in Oslo, in the beginning of each semester (August and January). Every second week there will be a 2-hour-synchrone Zoom-meeting. In between the meeting points, the students will study on their own through recorded videos, assignments, and required reading. This is known as flipped-classroom pedagogy. Exams and tutoring will also be organized digitally.
It is possible to start either in August or January, and you may study 1-3 subjects per semester. The tuition fee will be NOK 3,200 (app. 275 Euro) per subject for EU students. To be eligible for admission, students must document their proficiency in English. Application deadlines are April 1 and October 1, respectively.
