HLT launches new bachelor completion programme from August 2026.
Starting in August 2026, the Norwegian School of Leadership and Theology (HLT) will offer a new bachelor completion programme. This programme is designed for students who wish to have previous theological studies recognised as part of an accredited bachelor’s degree, or who want to qualify for admission to HLT’s new Master’s Programme in Theology and Leadership.
The programme is developed in cooperation with international partner institutions to ensure a thorough academic evaluation of previous studies. All applicants must nonetheless apply individually, and admission will be assessed according to HLT’s academic criteria.
Six courses, flexible progression
Based on dialogue with several international institutions, the programme consists of six courses (10 ECTS each):
Autumn:
- PAL2010E Church and Healing
- TEO2110E Advanced Biblical Hermeneutics
- KRI2110E Research, Method, and Design
Spring:
- KRI2120E Bachelor Thesis
- VEL1210E The Value-Based Organization
- VEL1220E Value-Based Leadership
Some students may need additional courses or internship placements to complete a bachelor’s degree or to qualify for admission to the master’s programme.
Flexible and online, with gatherings in Oslo
Teaching is primarily online, with one mandatory two-day gathering on campus in Oslo at the start of each semester (August and January). Every second week, students participate in two hours of synchronous teaching on Zoom, combined with self-study, recorded lectures, assignments, and required reading, an approach known as the “flipped classroom” model.
.
It is possible to start in either August or January and choose 1–3 courses per semester. The tuition fee is NOK 3,200 per course for EU students. Applicants must document their English language proficiency. Application deadlines are 1 April and 1 October. (Different rules and fees apply for students outside the EU.)
