Processing of personal data by HLT

 

What is considered personal data

Personal data is all forms of data and information that can be linked to and identify a person, for example name, social security number, telephone number or picture. At HLT, tens of thousands of personal data are processed in connection with study administration, research and employment.

What information is stored?

As registered at HLT – whether you are a student or an employee – you have the right to receive information about what kind of information is stored about you, and how this is processed at HLT. This follows from the provisions in the Act on the processing of personal data § 18-21.

The principal has overall processing responsibility for all processing of personal data at HLT. This includes responsibility for ensuring that all handling of personal data takes place in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and that HLT does not process personal data to a greater extent than is necessary to fulfill HLT’s purpose. § 1-3 of the Universities and Colleges Act describes the institution’s operations.
