Special arrangements for exams

Under certain circumstances, HLT is able to make special examination arrangements for students such as offering a different type of examination or making an adaptation to an examination. Such exceptions can be on the grounds of a disability, a specific learning disability (such as dyslexia or dyspraxia), or an ongoing or short-term medical condition.

The purpose of special arrangements is to compensate for the disadvantage the student’s disability or condition brings about, and at the same time ensure that the students, to the greatest possible extent, are tested on equal terms. The special arrangement shall not be so comprehensive that it will entail any advantages compared to other students.

Examples of special examination arrangements include:

Special examination arrangements are only granted to students whose application has been approved by the exam administrator. In order to apply for special examination arrangements, students must complete the Special examination arrangements form as well as provide the relevant documentation such as a medical report or other type of formal report.
