Dette emnet gir en grundig innføring i teorier og praksis knyttet til meningsskapende og relasjonsorientert ledelse. Kurset legger vekt på hvordan ledere kan bruke kommunikasjon og sosial interaksjon for å skape mening og gode relasjonelle ledelsesprosesser, og løfter fram flere teoretiske perspektiver som fremmer omsorg, etisk refleksjon og tjenende ledelse. Emnet gir også en dypere forståelse for hvordan ledere og medarbeidere sammen konstruerer virkelighet og felles forståelser, ikke minst knyttet til meningsskaping (sense-making) innenfor religiøse og trosbaserte organisasjoner. Studentene vil også utfordres til å tenke kritisk rundt spørsmål om makt og innflytelse i leder–/følger-relasjoner, og hvordan disse dynamikkene kan lede til positiv utvikling eller destruktive mønstre. Emnet vil ha en variasjon av praksiser og caser som viser hvordan ledere må forholde seg til paradokser og vanskelige dilemmaer, og studentene vil analysere disse problemene ved hjelp av faglig kunnskap og refleksivitet.
